Activate your Social Intelligence with Twtrland

| April 23, 2014

Developing a new social media campaign and need to identify influencers? Researching new business leads and need to know all about your potential customers? Curious how your brand’s social performance stacks up against competitors? Looking to build your own professional network? Look no further than Twtrland.

I had the great opportunity to get a personal overview of this social intelligence platform from Twtrland founder Guy Avigdor. Twtrland is a powerful tool that allows both individuals and businesses to extract key insights from their social networks into actionable knowledge. Utilizing Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram Twtrland provides detailed information on your overall social performance, social impact, networks, content performance, and enables discovery through the Twitter graph. Whether looking to improve your own social prowess or strengthen your brand’s social strategy, Twtrland is platform that serves multiple functions. Here are some compelling features.

Individuals

Individual Bio

You can research any Twitter handle using Twtrland. The individual profile focuses on four areas:

  1. Overview: A snapshot of your overall social performance across registered profiles. You can also see a breakout of who you’ve recently talked with and top followers in addition to top performing content across your networks.
  2. Analysis: Detailed insights into your networks including network breakdown, tweets distribution, brands and people talked with, and top shared domains.
  3. Network: Discover your network and sort by Influence type (Celebrities, Power Users, Casual, and Novice), Location, Gender, and Age. You can also see people you’ve had conversations with, mutual conversations (if searching another Twitter user), in addition to followers and interactions on other social platforms. Any of these users can be added to custom lists that are exportable to private Twitter lists or as an Excel doc.
  4. Demographics: Basic stats on your network including follower demographic breakout, influence, age, locations, and audience interests.

Twtrland’s individual profiles arm you with information on your connections and the people and content they engage with, leading to more meaningful contacts that can help grow your professional network.

Twtrland Pro

Twtrland Pro offers more ways to monitor your brand’s performance on social. Perhaps the most compelling feature lies with competitive analysis.

Pro

While you can track brand KPIs (mentions, impressions, new followers, etc.) you can simultaneously track the competition (set competitors in the configuration settings dashboard). Knowing where your competition falls compared to your own KPIs allows you to set benchmarks and reevaluate goals based on competitor performance. The same applies to content, able to see which content is performing best for your competition, in addition to tracking your own content performance. You can also discover top influencers within your category, adding to custom lists for future campaign outreach initiatives.

Another interesting feature resides under Audience Analysis.

Pro Audience

Top audience interests are detailed along with the sites they share and brands they work for. Insights can help guide a more engaging content strategy and informed strategic paid media strategy based on your audience’s interests and where they are active online.

Publishing Analytics is also a great feature of the Pro version. Here you can find optimal publishing times based on a variety of factors including target audience interests, day of week, skills, and location.

Twtrland’s search functions are my favorite feature this platform offers. Search is approached three different ways: skill, location, or name.

Explore

You can get creative in search based on your research needs. Looking for top bloggers in London? Enter the skill (blogging), location (London), and you have a list of top London bloggers. You can drill down even further to explore industries i.e., top fashion bloggers in London. Or perhaps you’re just researching a location and looking for top social profiles not tied to a specific skill. Simply search only by location. The flexibility in search allows you to extract specific information quickly, saving valuable time to put your social research into action.

Of comparable tools I’ve demoed, Twtrland combines many features I’ve only been able to find in separate platforms. With a simple interface, easy account setup/integration, and in depth analytic capabilities, Twtrland would be a valuable asset to any individual or corporate social media program. To learn more about Twtrland, visit their site where you can try out the search functions and create a free basic profile. Their blog is also an excellent resource to learn more about the platform.
