Portland’s 2009 Webvisionary Awards: Robots, Karaoke, and a Magic Bus

The second annual Webvisionary Awards were held Thursday, May 21st at Portland’s Bagdad Theatre. Host Ian Karmel, of The Groundlings, handed out awards to the winners and entertained the audience with digital shorts while DJ Dave Allen kept the energy high by spinning vinyl throughout the show. Also, several brave volunteers battled it out in this year’s PowerPoint Karaoke competition. The presenters had to improv a PowerPoint presentation on stage in front of the audience while being critiqued by an American Idol-like panel of judges. After the awards, the party continued as the Winners hopped on the “Magic Bus”, parked outside the Theatre, to enjoy the mobile green room and toast their victory. And now…the Robot goes to…..
